Starting in 2015, GE Lighting was awarded a contract for the supply of P Category LED streetlights to Ausgrid for the upgrade of 80W mercury fixtures to LED. The largest local authority area to install the GE Evolve P4P5 was the Northern Beaches of Sydney, upgrading approximately 10,000 lights in 2019. Locations included Shelley Beach, Clontarf, Botany Bay and French's Forest.
The contract was initially awarded for the Gen 1 25W GE Evolve P4P5, however most of the fixtures supplied were the Gen 3 using a total of 17W power.
